Kristof Vercruysse

Kristof has spent the last 12 years in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and CRO industry with a strong focus on operational and project execution.
After finalizing his studies at the Free University of Brussels, he started his career path at UNDA, a Pharmaceutical Company as Medical Representative. It didn’t take long for him to realize that his future lies within Clinical Operational Development and he moved to PRA International, a global CRO as Clinical Research Associate. Kristof moved to Organon, an international pharma company to further develop his experience where he also became a trainer in several aspects of Clinical Tools.
Mid 2006 Kristof started working at Nycomed, a growing mid-size pharmaceutical company where he was responsible for clinical trial management of international, interdisciplinary clinical trials in Cardiology, Surgery and Pain Management.
In May 2007, Ablynx, a growing Biotech delivering pioneer work in the field of Antibodies, more specifically single domain biologics (Nanobodies®) asked him to join as Manager Clinical Operations having responsibility for clinical operations, providing line management, training and development of project managers, developing third party vendor management, providing strategic input for executing project and programs as well as overseeing the development of project scopes and budgets.
Within Ablynx he quickly grew to Director Clinical Operations increasing his responsibilities for overseeing recruitment, assessing project feasibilities and providing input in budgets, CRO oversight and management, assisting project managers in regional trouble shooting and achieving project objectives, serving as primary responsible for agency inspections and sponsor audits with a direct reporting line into Executive Management. During his time at Ablynx he also developed his managerial skills and was elected two years in a row (maximum period) as chairman of the Operational Committee dealing with day-to-day operations within a challenging environment of Discovery, Pharmacology, CMC and Clinical Development.
